Description
Aerated Concrete
Aerated concrete additive is a material for forming regular spherical and uniform micronized air bubbles in concrete, which is chained in concrete mixture and increases the durability and stability of concrete against degradation caused by freezing and special melt salts.
When the grading of the concrete mix is properly adjusted, the use of this air-entraining agent among the aggregates can significantly reduce water separation in the mix. Additionally, this additive enhances the durability and longevity of the concrete in cold weather conditions.
This concrete additive has a long hydrocarbon chain at one end and a polar component at the other. The polar end tends to bond with water, while the non-polar end prefers to interact with air. These properties help stabilize the air bubbles that are introduced into the concrete mix. For example, factors such as increased cement content, softer cement, higher temperatures, and concrete pumping can reduce the amount of air in the concrete, while factors like the increase of alkaline materials can raise the air content. Additionally, there are various combinations in the mix design that can influence the amount of air in fresh concrete.

Features Aerated Concrete
- Reducing the amount of mixing water without negatively affecting the workability
- Increasing concrete’s resistance to multiple freeze-thaw cycles
- Enhancing durability and stability of concrete in cold weather conditions
- Reducing surface scaling of concrete due to the formation of fine air bubbles
- Preventing segregation and bleeding of aggregates by increasing adhesion and consistency of the mix
- Improving workability, especially in mixes with a lack of fine aggregates
- Reducing the permeability of concrete and maintaining the air bubbles created within the structure
- Breaking the continuity of capillary channels in concrete by disrupting their path through the formation of air bubbles
- Creating stable air bubbles when mixed with concrete
- Preventing internal stress and potential cracking in concrete
Applications
- Production of concrete for curbs and paving slabs
- Concrete used in cold storage facilities
- Suitable for concretes containing high levels of lime
- Suitable for concretes in pavements and surface slabs exposed to open environmental conditions
- Production of high-quality concrete for dams, reservoirs, and irrigation and drainage networks in cold regions
