Concrete Liquid Retarder

The liquid concrete retarder is an additive based on gluconates and retarding agents, specifically designed to prevent cracking, premature drying, and erosion of concrete. This liquid additive slows down the hydration process, delaying the setting time of concrete and enabling the production of mass concrete.

In conditions where high temperatures or rapid setting may compromise the quality or strength of concrete or mortar, this additive is an effective solution to control the initial setting time. Therefore, it is highly recommended for use in mass concrete placements and hot weather conditions. By extending the workability time of fresh concrete, this retarder enhances the efficiency and overall performance of the concrete mix.

Method of Use for Liquid Concrete Retarder:

The liquid concrete retarder is added to the concrete mix using the following methods:

• The required amount of liquid retarder is calculated based on the concrete mix design and then diluted with twice the volume of water used in the concrete. The diluted additive is gradually added to the mixing concrete.
• This additive can be added to the prepared concrete mix, and after thorough mixing, the concrete can be poured.

Note: It is recommended to mix for at least one minute per cubic meter of concrete.

• The liquid retarder can be added during the production of concrete to the batching plant or truck mixer.

Attention: This additive should not be poured directly onto dry cement.
