Description
Flat wall waterstop
The flat wall waterstop is a flexible sealing strip specifically designed for sealing cut concrete surfaces and construction joints. The main purpose of this type of waterstop in construction joints is to prevent water from penetrating through the gaps.
These waterstops are essentially strips that, by providing flexibility, are used to seal cut concrete surfaces and various building joints. When embedded in concrete, they form a waterproof diaphragm that prevents the passage of liquids through the joints. Unlike elastomeric sealants, which adhere to the exposed surface, waterstops are specifically designed to prevent water flow in construction joints. This type of waterstop is typically used in joints with minimal movement, such as expansion and contraction joints in construction.

- Used for sealing concrete pipes, dams, and canals
- Sealing in hydraulic structures
- Waterproofing for swimming pools and artificial lakes
Installation Method
To install the flat wall waterstop, first place it in the area designated for the concrete cutoff. It should be positioned so that half of the waterstop’s width is embedded in the first layer of concrete and the other half is embedded in the second layer. The concreting process should be done slowly to prevent the waterstop from detaching from its installation site. For accurate installation, ensure that the cavity of the waterstop is correctly placed in the pre-designed expansion joint location. Use specially designed clips to secure the waterstop in place within the structure.
Connecting Two Ends of the Flat Wall Waterstop:
There are two methods to connect the two ends of the flat wall waterstop:
- Using a Hot-Air Tool (Welding): In this method, heat the two ends of the PVC waterstop with a hot-air tool until they melt. Then, place the two ends together, and once cooled, a seamless bond will be formed.
- Using Industrial Adhesives: For connecting the hollow ends of the waterstop, industrial adhesives specifically designed for PVC can be used. In this method, overlap the two ends by approximately 30 cm, apply the adhesive between them, and press them together to ensure a secure, complete connection.
If the waterstops are stored in their original packaging and protected from direct sunlight, oxygen, and ozone by a cover, their resistance properties will remain stable for up to 12 months.
