How to use

To execute paving with plastic molds, it is essential to consider environmental conditions and use appropriate cement mortar. The mortar mix should have a grade of at least 300, and for optimal results, a grade of 350 is recommended.

1. Before starting, grease the molds with oil or diesel to prevent the mortar from sticking to the mold.
2. Arrange the HEXARC X4040 molds neatly side by side, based on the number of molds available.
3. Thoroughly wet the molds with fresh water to prevent them from absorbing moisture from the mortar and allow adequate time for initial setting.
4. Use a trowel to evenly pour the prepared mortar into the cells of the mold and level the surface.
5. If you plan to use different colors in the cells, smaller trowels can help ensure more precise mortar application.
6. After filling the cells, gently tap the surface of the mold with your hand or a trowel to naturally vibrate and compact the mortar.
7. Depending on the weather conditions, allow the mortar to remain in the mold for 2 to 3 hours until it reaches its initial set.
8. When removing the molds, lift them vertically to avoid damaging or chipping the patterned concrete.
9. After demolding, keep the surface moist for at least 3 days by sprinkling water (curing) to prevent rapid drying of the concrete.
10. Based on the ambient temperature and the concrete mix design, the surface can be walked on after 24 to 48 hours and will be ready to withstand heavy loads, such as vehicle traffic, after 7 days.
11. Once the work is complete, clean the molds with water and a brush, dry them, and store them in a suitable location.
