The structure of the molecules that make up the softener based on polycarboxylate ether is created from a main branch and several sub-branches. By adding polycarboxylate ether to the concrete mixture or cement mortar, a charged layer consisting of polycarboxylate ether molecules surrounds the cement grains and this causes the cement particles to repel each other inside the concrete mixture or mortar.
