Description

Plastic concrete fibre

Plastic concrete fiber is a good alternative to rebar in some concrete structures. Concrete plastic fibers, composed of a natural polymer structure with identical bonds of propylene, have been designed with a sine diagram appearance to better inhibit cement matrix and high grip length in concrete.

These plastic fibers are specially used in concrete flooring and can serve as a suitable alternative to rebar in this application. The fibers reduce the shrinkage of both fresh and hardened concrete and increase the concrete’s resistance to impact and fatigue. Incorporating plastic fibers into concrete improves its long-term durability and structural properties, while also controlling secondary or thermal cracks. Additionally, these fibers can enhance the concrete’s resistance to thermal stresses caused by concrete shrinkage.

Plastic concrete fiber is added to concrete to improve its strength and durability. Their use enhances the concrete’s load-bearing capacity and reduces cracking. Plastic fibers help control the shrinkage of concrete and minimize cracks. They also function as secondary reinforcement, helping to control plastic shrinkage cracks and settlement cracks, thus improving the properties of both fresh and hardened concrete. Ultimately, concrete strengthened with these plastic fibers offers a sustainable solution for improving concrete performance.

  • Ideal for shotcrete concrete and strengthening
  • Suitable for producing walls and precast concrete components
  • Applicable in tunnel walls and mining excavation projects
  • Usable in the construction of steel and concrete bridge decks
  • Suitable for concrete pouring in steel deck ceilings
  • Suitable for producing concrete for road and airport pavements
  • Used in flooring for military storage and power plant structures
  • Capable of producing concrete with high resistance to impact and abrasion
  • Applicable in military and nuclear structural projects

How to use

Plastic concrete fiber can be added to the concrete mix or shotcrete mortar in various ways:

  1. Adding fibers at the concrete manufacturing plant.
  2. Adding fibers at the project site (manual concrete mixing).
  3. Adding fibers to the truck mixer at the project site.

Note that for every cubic meter of concrete, mixing should be done for at least one minute to ensure the plastic fibers are thoroughly integrated with the concrete mix and uniformly distributed throughout.
