Carboxylate stone Resin plasticizer is based on polycarboxylate ether which is widely used in the creation of artificial stones. This product creates features such as increasing resistance, reducing permeability and water absorption, increasing the life and durability of artificial stone, increasing the beauty and polishing and gloss of the stone.
Resins for artificial stone based on polycarboxylate ether have a structure consisting of a main chain and several side chains. When this resin is added to a concrete or cement mortar mix, polycarboxylate ether molecules, which are charged, accumulate around the cement particles and reduce the adhesion between them.
This process occurs because the side chains of the molecules occupy space, causing the cement particles to repel each other. Meanwhile, the hydrophobic groups in the main chain of the molecules attract water molecules, placing them farther away from the cement particles. This property increases the fluidity of the concrete or mortar mix. Over time, the forces induced in the concrete mix dissipate due to reverse effects, leading to a slump reduction and the initiation of cement hydration, setting, and hardening of the concrete and mortar.
