Polymeric Tile Adhesive is ready to use and can be easily applied as a thin layer on the surface using a trowel or notched spatula, making the installation process more convenient.

Today, innovative products have been developed and introduced to the market for tile and ceramic installation, offering unique advantages and features. In traditional methods, a combination of stone powder and cement was typically used as mortar for tiling. However, nowadays, ready-made specialized adhesives are utilized for installing tiles and ceramics on walls and floors, replacing the old mortar systems.

One of the most commonly used adhesives is Polymeric Tile Adhesive, which is made from acrylic resins, mineral powders, and thickening agents. Installing tiles on the substrate is one of the most critical stages of tiling. This adhesive not only speeds up the installation process and reduces the weight of materials but also increases the usable interior space of the building. In traditional methods, tiles were installed 4 to 5 cm away from the wall, and the gap behind them was filled with cement mortar. This approach not only consumed a significant amount of materials but also occupied a considerable portion of the interior space. In contrast, the modern method involves applying tile adhesive with a thickness of 4 to 5 mm directly onto the wall, followed by tile installation.

How to Use Polymeric Tile Adhesive

Surface Preparation:

• The surface must be completely clean and free from any contamination, dust, oil, or other residues.
• If there is dust or contamination, use a water jet or sandblasting to clean the surface.
• Surface preparation methods may vary depending on the type of surface, so choose the appropriate method.

Gypsum Surfaces:

• Before installing the tiles, coat the gypsum surface with a primer (or a diluted solution of tile adhesive) and then proceed with the installation.

Wallpapered Surfaces:

• Remove the wallpaper from the surface, then apply a primer for undercoating. Next, using a notched trowel, spread a layer of adhesive 3 to 4 mm thick over an area of up to 1 square meter. Place the tiles on the adhesive-coated surface within 5 to 10 minutes.

Concrete or Cement Surfaces:

• Apply a layer of primer to the concrete or cement surface. Then, spread the tile adhesive paste evenly with a notched trowel and place the tiles.

Previously Tiled Surfaces:

• Remove any grease or oil from the surface and sand the glaze off the existing tiles. Then, apply a layer of primer and spread Polymeric Tile Adhesive evenly. Finally, place the tiles.

Additional Notes:

• Tiles installed with this adhesive will reach their final strength after 48 hours.
• Once the adhesive has fully cured, you can begin grouting.
• The surface will be ready for use two days after grouting.
• During installation, ensure that at least 60% of the back of each tile is covered with adhesive.
