How to Use Z2000 Waterproofing Mortar

Surface Preparation:

• The surface where the Z2000 Waterproofing Mortar will be applied must be completely clean, free from any contaminants, dust, loose particles, grease, or previous coatings.
• If cracks or joints are found on the surface, they should be repaired with suitable repair materials. For deeper cracks, polyurethane mastics should be used for sealing.
• All joints should be corrected to dimensions of approximately 3×3 cm.
• If waterproofing a pool, the area around water inlet and outlet pipes, lights, and other internal components must be sealed with polyurethane mastic.

Mixing and Application Steps:

• Choose a suitable container and pour the liquid part into it. While the electric mixer (drill with a paddle) is running, gradually add the powder until a uniform, homogeneous mixture is achieved.
• It is recommended to apply a primer layer to the surface before applying the waterproofing compound to enhance the bonding of the mixture to the surface.

Layer Application Method:

• Apply the first layer in one direction (either vertically or horizontally).
• Before applying this pool waterproofing, the surface should be saturated with fresh water.
• Use a trowel or brush to apply this waterproofing compound.
• The second layer should be applied when the first layer is still wet (about 3 to 4 hours after the first layer application) in the opposite direction of the first layer.
• To improve properties and increase the lifespan and elasticity of the waterproofing layer, it is recommended to use fiberglass mesh between the two layers to reinforce the waterproofing layer.
